TGIF, y’all. For real. Summer weekends in the South call for Country music and this particular weekend calls for a little extra. The other man in my life, Tim McGraw, is playing in ATL Sunday night & I will be there with bells on. Er, boots. I will be there with boots on. I try to see him at LEAST once a year. It’s love.
As with every other event I commit to, this begs the question: what the hell should I wear? Let me break it down. I feel like my personality for a Country concert can go one of three ways. I can either be the girl that acts nonchalant and dresses like a cuter version of one of the guys (optional addition: renting a pick-up truck for the night), I can go super girly with a side of sex appeal à la Jessie James in all of her videos, or I can step totally outside of the box and do a little modern twist on a blend of the previous options, i.e. denim on denim. I can do all three of these with the same pair of cut-off shorts. A picture is worth a thousand words, so here is a visual aid:
Ralph Lauren Chambray / Topshop / Rag & Bone Denim / American Eagle / Frye Boots / Elyse Walker Los Angeles Fringe Booties / Frye Boots / Felt Hat / Cult Gaia Flower Garland / Cowgirl Hat
This is the second time in one week that I have blogged about those Elyse Walker booties. I am obsessed & do not care who knows it.
How do we all feel about this denim on denim scenario? I really liked the way Kim Kardashian did it here, but it’s definitely bordering on the great Britney & Justin MTV Awards fiasco of 2001. Risky business.
Thankfully, I have two more nights to figure out which one of these country girls I want to be, so stay tuned. Life is so hard.
